Jujustu Kaisen

I think the series is slightly misunderstood

I hope this doesn't come off as holier than thou but I think that the series just hasn't been interperted properly. At least by power scalers ya know? I feel like the series being a shounen attracted not necessarily the wrong crowd but a crowd whose minds couldn't see anything past what was put right in front of them. For instance JJK's power system is intentionally presented as flawed, and unfortunately I think I'm making this a bit too late because I feel like the ending sort of messes with the consistency a bit. However I used to see a lot of talk about Toji and Maki specifically and what grade they'd be but I think that is contradictory to what is presented in the series. Like obviously it's common knowledge that they are anomalies in the series and everything about them contradicts Jujutsu as a whole yet people still try to confine them to rules and systems that were set in place by an older generation that are blantantly stated to be unrelieable and favor things they can understand rather that complicated or anomalous powers. The system presented to us isn't meant to be ble to take into account people like them or really most of the more powerful characters that show up in the series. Personally I think the whole theme of the series is the theme of destroying the status quo, and time nd time again we are shown and told that the world that we are currently seeing isn't as the world should or normally exists, Sukuna's exist is one of the biggest examples of that. I'm also only really trying to address world building and how systems are presented overall plot and character writing is a whole other beast. It's just a little funny to me that people try power scaling things in the JJK universe but I guess when words like "Strongest" are used it will promote thinking like that huh? SIDENOTE: I'd like to figure out how to implement somekind of comments feature or something like that but I'm not really the greatest at coding, as much as I try I keep losing but if you happen to see this and would like to talk about it please use my twitter linked above I'm always open for discussions :)

The Visual Novel Medium

Recently I've been playing through a lot of VN's. Dramatical Murder (dmmd) is what started this fixation of mine. I think the medium as a whole is quite engaging and it definitely is a very personal thing (obviously) but I think the feeling of emulating conversations and first hand interactions makes it much more captivating that normal literature even manga to some degree. I read a lot of manga and I think for action oriented stuff as of now I think that is the better medium HOWEVER I havent really read a VN with a whole lot of action, I guess dmmd has a lot of fighting but those scenes are not it's strong suit. I'm currently going through Steins;Gate and its a bit of a slow burn but I think because of how it is I've been able to stay engaged. Books and even Manga tend to get really draining to me and even not just because of a lack of action, For example I've started reading Gleipnir recently and I really like that manga but Steins;Gate has kept me in my seat longer and nothing really action heavy has happened. I mean maybe the mystery and plot is presented better and has more set up that keeps me entranced, but I digress the VN format is something that I've recently discovered and in my lifelong quest of entrenching myself in as much media as I possibly can I am very happy with this find of mine. Also I intend to write something more cohesive and better put together about my thought on Dramatical Murder and Steins;Gate but that will come in due time.

Genshiken

An unfinished review of a manga I've been reading

I apologize this website has been in such an unfinished state for so long but I've returned. I've been reading Genshiken and it's a very interesting manga, not so much in the sense that it will make you have some crazy revalation or really emotionally moving but it's a interesting side of Slice of Life manga. It follows a club for Otaku and you get a view of their daily life as otaku. It's really hard to give an interesting and detailed view about something as simple as that but it's made me a bit more comfortable with my own interests and also from a personal view learning about how people more engrossed in that culture gives me ideas on how I can become a person I like more as strange as that may sound.
